how seriously do sororities take gpa

Its my first semester of college and im scared my gpa wont be high enough to join a sorority here at MU. I know the minimum says a 2.5 but how serious is that taken?

Im in Greek like and if you do not have a 2.5, you can not accept a bid to a sorority. If you have below a 2.5 once you are in, you can have social (going out) privileges taken away.
