More athletic SigEp basically. Good, not great parties. Not sure how involved they are.

Beta recently is able to recruit again. Still pretty small but getting bigger. New pledge class is decent. I'd consider them middle tier since they arent as low as zbt or zeta but are really small. Hopefully they can get it going again.

Overview: Really fun group of guys, a lot of which coming from the variety of club sports on campus. In my opinion, these guys possibly have the most tight-nit fraternity on campus. They have about 50 guys, all of whom really seem to vibe together, they’re always hanging out in the library or even just chilling with each other at parties. Not necessarily the most social in terms of having great parties, but their parties are really safe and are just a generally positive environment. Why they’re unique: They all just seem like they’re boys. This can’t really be said for most of the frats, but all these guys just seem to get along. Being around these guys is just a chill relax environment which is awesome. Shortcomings: The frat does have some internal issues they’ve been dealing with. First off, they’re really deep in financial debt which has been hurting their chapter activities a lot. Also, they have a load of graduating seniors which forced them to give out 18 bids this semester, while only getting 12 back. That’s really not great as a ratio, and you can tell that some of the kids they took might not really fit into the vibe of their fraternity. Summary: On the face, the fraternity seems to be doing really well as a brotherhood and are pretty present on campus. However, behind the scenes I’m pretty worried about them staying afloat due to their money issues and this pledge class they just took. They seem to be taking steps to fix all this but we’ll see if they can figure it out.

Overview: Although they’ve been known as the “nice guy” frat with a huge academic focus for a while, it feels like SigEp has started to switch its goals as they came back from their minor absence on campus last semester and have definitely improved their social standing substantially. They haven’t really competed with other frats for new guys, as they have honestly one of the best bids given-to-bids accepted ratios. And surprisingly this new class looks to be a bit of a mold-breaking class for them. Why they’re unique: As previously stated, SigEp is definitely the top of the “nice guy” frats (which are probably Delt, SAE, Zeta etc), just for their ability to party. They did have a few issues last semester but their house is one of the best size-wise and they’ve really started to go all out with this champagne shower thing. Also, since they are knows as a “nice guy” frat, they rarely are at risk from getting hit with any sanctions by the school. SigEp is also by far the biggest frat on campus, with about 20 more people than the next two biggest, Delt and DChi. Literally walk on campus for 10 minutes and you’ll definitely have seen a SigEp. Shortcomings: One huge issue with SigEp which makes is a little bit of a reach to put them here is the fact that they don’t mix with any of the top sororities. They really seem content to mix with AXID, Phi Sig and even Phi Mu semester after semester. That’s a bit confusing to me why they haven’t pushed to mix with top sororities when the AEPIs and SigChis of the world are able to get mixers with them semester after semester. Their issues with their house last semester definitely set them back a bit socially as well, the social aspect always being a bit of a setback for the frat. Summary: SigEp knows the type of guys they want and constantly go after them and are able to lock them down quick. They effectively destroyed SAE apparently by taking half(? Not sure the exact number) of the kids SAE bid this semester. However, social shortcomings in terms of mixers means that they really can’t be considered a “top” frat just yet. Great guys though!

This fraternity really struggles with their identity. They can’t seem to accept that most of their guys are beta types. Maybe if they focused on brotherhood as opposed to relying on PSK for every event then they would get more respect. Not on the level of PSK, Pike or DX, so stop trying to be that .Focus on personal development so the little man syndrome goes away.
