I am transferring to UMKC from another school... I spent the fall semester at the other school and ended up leaving and taking a semester off because I got really sick (like terminally). I'm starting at UMKC as a sophomore and want to go through recruitment but don't have a great GPA from my first semester at college (2.7). I had a 3.5-3.6 all 4 years in high school, but I'm worried they'll look more at my college GPA. Should I even bother going through recruitment or will I just get dropped from all the houses because of my GPA?

Different houses have different GPA cut offs so I would look at the informational packets see if they say anything

you should definitely still attempt to go through. Each chapter has different requirements, and if you don't meet them you can always do informal recruitment after getting your GPA up for the first semester.
