do non-whites have a shot at the "good" fraterniti

by: mustang

Can someone who isn't white get a bid from, say, good chapters like SAE, FIJI or Phi Delt?

If you're wealthy, well-dressed, well mannered and your parents have money, you could with SAE

Phi Delt is gone

FIJI is a hit or miss. They are the douchebag, Cali bro types

Actually EX consistanly having the most B-School majors, has the largest percentage of CEOs, CFOs and Corporate Controller Alumni of all of the SMU Fraternities.

SAE - Unless you are connected, no way
Phi Delt - If you had money you had chance, not anymore
FIJI - Just depends on how bro you are/fit in, not as much on being white
Pike - If you rage hard enough you can get a bid

the rest take multicultural, even KA did this year. So yeah you may have a chance.

There is no comparison between Sigma Chi and Fiji, Pike, or SAE. Cool it kids, enjoy being a part of the social scene next year while Sigep and PDT are suspended.

Even the Pike ANT agrees in the above post, Sigma Chi, Fiji, Pike and SAE are the top four fraternities on campus.

The POWER FOUR FRATERNITIES
Sigma Chi
Fiji
Pike
SAE

Ladies choose your dance partner wisely. Before the Pike ANTS spike your drink....

Dude...

SMU is not a large university to have tiers. It has 4 large viable fraternities,( Fiji, SAE, Sigma Chi and Pike ) and small fraternities.

PDT and LX are the only small fraternities, (under 30 active members) that have the past potential to be considered mid-size in the next 5 years. Both are not currently deemed active due to numerous IFC violations and University probation status.

EX has gotten far more selective over the past few years. They have really focused on strong GPAs and B-school majors. LXA and Pike take the masses. LXA lost over 30 actives over infractions last year.
