How hard is it to get into one of Stanford's top sororities? Do tiers really matter that much? What do PNMs wear during recruitment week?

It really really depends. Stanford's sorority rush is really about how well you get along with the members of each sorority (except for maybe Theta). Tiers honestly matter not at ALL. To an extent, yes, the less social sororities don't get as much attention, but there are so few on campus that most of us couldn't care less about what kinds of insecure rankings people post on this site.

Why not Theta

Theta is known for judging more on looks and social "status" then on how well girls get along/fit in to the group. They get a lot of pretty and socially savvy girls this way, but hence Theta is probably the cliquiest/cattiest of the sororities. Theta also has their 'bid list' well before rush - the rush process almost doesn't matter for them as they already know the girls they want to bid going in to it.

Ok if you're going to lie to defend yourself don't spread lies about other sororities. I'm in Pi Phi & we at least judge only what we see before us. Yeah we project girls' pictures but it's only so we can remember how they look, which is important. If your recruitment was only based on good conversations then I have no idea how half of your pledge class got in there....

So what do pnms wear? Do we get bid day tanks?

Our rush (2014) had 3 nights instead of four. First night was casual (but still put together, think nice jeans/skirt, nice top and sweater) second night was fancy-casual (sundress, skirt, i wore pastel pants and a really nice top) and third night was dressy (dress and heels). I wouldn't wear heels the first two nights because you're on your feel 5-7 hours and that would be extraordinarily painful. Plus, no one else wore heels and you'd stand out in a weird way
