sorority reps/rankings for rush 2018

someone else can put in this stuff^^ if they want but in my opinion, if you rush, don't look at ranks. For my pref round, I looked at ranks and went back to a higher ranked house that I did not feel comfortable in instead of another house that I enjoyed being in more that had a lower rank. Thankfully, that house was my second choice and I ended up getting my first choice which I loved, but just don't look at ranks.

kind of up to your preference within tiers and some tiers are closer together than others but this is just how it is - anyone who says otherwise is just salty or threatened lol

honestly, like the first person said, don't worry about ranks or reps. you'll get a pretty good feel of each sorority during rounds. just go wherever you vibe. if you don't vibe with the girls you've talked to, even if they're in the "best" sorority, drop them. you want to be in a sorority where you genuinely vibe with the girls and look up to them.
you'll have fun wherever you go, and literally no one will judge you for being in a lower tier sorority, or for deciding not to go greek at all. girls (greek and not) can literally get into any party they want and tiers don't matter at all. the only thing tiers kind of determine are who you have mixers with and which frat you go to homecoming with. but still. rankings change all the time.
i know all of that sounds super cliche, but it's true. just go into rush with an open mind, positive attitude and lots of energy and you'll find a good place for you.

Kappa: very fun and nice girls but can sometimes be catty towards their sisters and other sororities; go out a lot and super fun to hang with, always a good time; a little bit of a rich girl stereotype
Theta: sweet girls, probably the hottest group of girls but sometimes there can be some random outsiders in the mix; most do go out, but again, there are some that are never out and are kinda odd; not super diverse
Chi O: they go hard, sometimes scary hard. but they are the most fun to party with; lots of athletes and kinda like theta, its a mix bag of girls but mainly super fun
Pi Phi: super sweet chill group of girls, known for their laid back personality; stereotypically thought of as the hippies; not very diverse either
TriDelt: Like ChiO, tridelts go hard but an even scarier hard; very loud and out there but they seem very passionate about their philanthropy and sisterhood; very diverse group of girls
DG: Again, a mix group of girls, and are very sweet; dont really have a defining personality but many do go out and party hard
KD: Super sweet girls, usually pretty preppy and very passionate about sisterhood; academically great as well and a lot of girls do go out often
Phi Mu: new sorority but definitely a solid group of girls that have grown together with the sorority; lots of artsy sweet girls but dont seem to go out too much; very down to earth
Gamma Phi: very friendly but pretty reserved on campus; a great sisterhood and a really kind group of girls
AXO: very diverse group of girls who seem to look out for eachother but dont seem to get too involved on campus or interact much with other sororities and supporting other sisterhoods

Chi Omega and Kappa were very selective, with Theta and Pi Phi close behind. Phi Mu had a great recruitment and is on the rise. Really, can’t go wrong with any of the houses. Lots of interesting people, who are representative of the general engaged/quirky/academic culture of W&M.

anyone in a top org knows theta was at least as selective as kappa and chi o. they got a ton of the ‘top picks’. someone literally declined a kappa bid and chi Os current pc is way less relevant than usual.

Top tier:
kappa / chi o / theta (in that order)
pi phi
chi o, kappa, and theta are typically thought of as the "top 3" with pi phi a step down. chi o and kappa had the best rushes this year.
Upper mid:
tri delt
a step above kd and dg but below pi phi. mixed bag this year.
Mid tier:
kd / dg
same old, nice enough.
Bottom tier:
gpb / axo
phi mu
phi mu is honestly not horrible, the rankings may not have changed yet but could see them overtaking gpb or axo eventually.

kappa & chi o - the top sororitys it just depends on who hiu’re talking to for which is best. neither have fantastic sisterhood but know how to have a good time & are involved on campus. pretty girls but some randos too.
theta - try rllyyyy hard to be kappa & chi o by hiding girls furing recruitment. in the end they’re a bunch of rlly boring girls who fool people during rush into thinking they’re fun. they aren’t.

People. This hiding girl stuff is insane. Walk around campus and see for yo self. The big four Greek organizations on WM campus are KKG, Kap Sig, XO, and Sig Chi.
