Mine/most frats I’ve heard of are donating in amounts similar to what’s listed above, we’re not publicizing it though because this isn’t about us. How about instead of matching people’s donation y’all just donate the full amount and encourage everyone that you know to donate on their own if they’re not part of a greek organization that they’re already donating through.

matching donations also feels like it holds people more individually accountable rather than the organization throwing money at a cause just to check a box. In that case most of the members don’t have to think about the issue and their role in it at all. Matching makes individual members think more intentionally about their personal contributions and investment in the cause. at least that’s what it did for me with my sorority
