more sorority housing
by: WaitingWhen will the rest of the sororities here realize that they will truly benefit from having their own chapter house here on campus? It is out of the norm and slightly off-putting to an incoming PNM.

There has been talk of a sorority village for years and years and it has not really been implemented so we don't really know when all sororities can get a house! It is true, we all want a house! But the resources that the UMaine area gives greeks is pretty limited. But we are being patient and looking forward to a future house that will be brand new and filled with glamour and not falling apart like the ones currently on campus. As a PNM, still go through formal recruitment anyways! The sisterhood is the most important aspect of a sorority! Good luck!

It would be great for the sororities to have houses, but houses are expensive and most Nationals would rather put money into houses at schools with big Greek life like Alabama instead of building a house at UMaine, which is at the end of the universe and where Greek life can be described as "low key" at best. They've been talking about a Greek Village for years but so far, nothing's happened and nothing probably will happen. There aren't any rules against sororities having houses, that's a myth.
