Virginia Tech - VT Greek Life Reviews

Vt doesnt like greeklife they are kicking people out

Greek life is experiencing trouble with the IFC and pan-hell cracking down on so many rules. Nothing wrong with that since it is their job but there is obvious favoritism towards certain organizations compared to others so it seems like justice is not being given to everyone equally. There is also no representation or support of the cultural organizations. Certain members of the community have agendas and are willing to look away at their own organizations which is unfair and there is no system in place to question them.

GREEK life is awesome because their is an organization that every person capable of socializing will fit in at. If you're sporty or nerdy and whatever the hobbies, there are people in organizations that you'll bond with.People just get too tied up in their own insecurities to appreciate all the great things about going GREEK.

Tech greek life is the most overhyped thing about this school. It is only moderately hype by necessity because we don't have any other social scene besides it.

VT has more of a greek presence than JMU but not as much as at UVA (which i think is a plus). Rush in virginia appears to be pretty different between schools but it's not as difficult for guys and girls as at other schools. No bars here so fraternity parties are some of the only options, but it's still not crazy or anything

Greek life at VT is great and overall has good reps unlike other Virginia schools who only get trashed with their sisters

GO GREEK!

Greek life is pretty popular here, but only because we don't have a bar scene so if you aren't in greek life you don't have many options. Some frats have really nice off campus houses, but all the strats and a few frats have oak lane houses which are just kind of eh. As far as rushing goes, it's definitely less competitive for guys. For girls it helps a lot if you know people even if you're just from the same area as one of the girls. Still fun to be greek life though.

Great Greek life

Virginia Tech has OK greek life. For me it wasn't really an option, because I feel like if you're not in greek life your social options are severely limited to tiny apartment parties off campus. VT has on campus housing for fraternities and sororities but they come with rules. Also, the on campus houses feel like dorm rooms. Hazing here is average, there are definitely more guys than girls, and it's not too competitive especially if you're a guy.
