is it crazy i want a lower house?

Like the title says. I’m already going into rush not having high expectations (Not exactly the most skinny, not facey, I was the “quirky weird funny” girl in hs, etc.), and am probably in the same boat as some PNMS when I say this but there seems like there’s a lot of pressure that you would only feel happy/satisfied in the top 3 strats.
TBH, I see myself so much happier in some “lower” houses (like PM, Gamma, AXO) and feel like my vibe fits in there more than feeling the heat and pressure from the top tier. I see so many girls on here wishing their went to middle/lower tiers since they’re not happy at the top, and as a PNM I’m totally taking that advice to heart so thank you!!!
Moral of the story for other pnms reading this: seriously go somewhere where you’ll feel happy, not about where a house is in terms of their rank. Yeah, I’ve definitely stalked some of the lower/mid houses on social media to see where I would fit most, but I’m just being realistic and not being disappointed when I get dropped by the top houses for not fitting their perfect mold for a PNM.

Props to you for being honest for yourself and thinking about what will be best for you. I went through recruitment knowing that I wouldn't want a top house, but it's easy to be starstruck by the "best" houses. In the end, the best house for you is going to be the house where you're happiest.

It must be a burden to be in ZTA, ADPi, DDD, and others if you’re not blessed with perfect looks. As a HS senior last year I went to a Speech and Debate tournament at UF, and I overheard a couple of the Blue Key helpers talking about their sororities, which included ZTA and DG. Not to put them down, but I thought that they were very plain. Now I read on here that they are all supposed to be “gorgeous and hot”. Not so! Well, I’d rather be in a sorority down a step or two where I’m not pressured about my looks or having to be “hot”. I have friends in XO and PM who are nicer looking than the girls at the tournament, and I’m more interested in them than trying to fit into the top tier sororities.

And Id rather be a stunner in a middle or lower tier house than a plain jane in a top house

Don't disregard the top houses though, like it's great you have an idea of where you wanted to go. I went into recruitment loving AXO, pi phi, or kappa because I had friends in them and thought I would have clicked with them. I ended up getting dropped from pi phi round 1 and dropped round 2 by AXO and kappa even though i loved the vibes of both of them. Hardly anyone has a perfect rush and you sometimes can't see that you wouldn't really fit in until after you get into your own house and go through the other side of recruitment. So keep an open mind about recruitment and don't just dismiss houses because they seem "superficial", a lot of girls I know in the top tier are amazing and genuine, but so are the girls in the middle and lower tiers. Go where you feel you chick with the vibe during recruitment, not just by their social media pages (because all of them honestly seem similar)

Sameee, I went in thinking I would probably fit in best with like DZ or AXO and did like them a lot during rush, but Ill be the first to say that adpi/zta/KD put on an awesome rush, it's hard not to feel, well, "dazzled" by them.
