gamma delta chapter coming to uofl????

by: uoflgreek

So I heard a rumor saying that the University of Louisville is going to get a Gamma Delta chapter coming in Fall 2016? Is this true? Does anyone know anything more about them? Are they going to be doing formal recruitment?

Try Delta Gamma. They will recruit after formal recruitment ends.

Lol why don't they get to recruit at the same time? It's essentially dooming them to an entire year of cast offs.

Because that's how NPC sororities do it at every single school. A colonizing chapter comes on after formal recruitment, then does their first formal recruitment the following year. They will do interviews and other events to get their first members.

My sister just pledged Delta Gamma at Arkansas in their colonization and they took 254 awesome girls. There is no way you'd consider them bottom because they are new. She said they interviewed over 400. The other chapters on the campus have been incredibly supportive in promoting interviewing during the colonization and after. Kappa even let them use their house for their bid day. It was really nice to see such a strong panhellenic spirit on the campus.

Delta Gamma is one of the oldest National sororities and still keeps the original title of fraternity for tradition. Their symbol is the Anchor, and their motto is "Do Good", which is how they got the letters DG. Their philanthropy is service for sight which works with the blind and visually impaired.

There has been an adjustment again in the Delta Gamma colonization date, according to the official DG website. They will no longer colonize this Fall, and their date is listed as TBD.

The DG website still lists their colony date as TBD; their original colony date range was anywhere from 2017 to 2020.

There is no reason for DG to colonize when quota was only 30. When DG was awarded the expansion, quota was 60+/_ Interest in Greek life has declined and U of L really isn't a real residential campus, nothing like UK or IU where the sororities have nice houses where more people can live in.

GPhiB was required to wait a long time to colonize at Kentucky, and they will finally join there in Fall 2019. So if DG is scheduled to colonize here between 2017 and 2020, there is still time for them to do so.

Sad for U of L as DG is strong Nationally in the West and Midwest and North(aka FL).
