how are tiers determined for sororities

i really don't understand tier criteria. alot of people are saying X sorority is "top tier" "middle tier" or "bottom tier" but isn't that stuff subjective? is it based on their sisterhood? their money? their involvement? their popularity? can someone give me an honest tier list with at least some explanation of what actually makes an org top or bottom tier?? i always wanted to rush but I don't want to make the wrong decision.

You won't make a wrong decision. You will fit in with a few groups more than others. The decision wherever you go, whatever sorority you pledge should be based on where you feel most comfortable. There really is no wrong decision. You will know where you belong.
