Quinnipiac University - QU 3.0 It is competetive at times when it comes to rush. More so with girls. When it comes to Frat rush its all anout who you know and how your first impression goes.

Quinnipiac University - QU 1.5 Regret going Greek. Was stoked to join a top frat but dues are pricey and the guys look like such try hards when they’re not busy only talking to each other instead of meeting the ladies. The srats are better organized than us but both really don’t live up to what being Greek should be. Seriously the guys here hardly do crap except plan lame parties and fundraisers pocket change. The hazing is pretty dumb too like running errands and sober d-ing. My sports team throws WAY better parties than them, the frat bros really build themselves up to be way cooler than they are

Quinnipiac University - QU 2.0 anyone giving it these “great” reviews is probably too defensive of their srat to look at our greek system objectively. when I went greek as a frosh it was exciting but the magic quickly died- it’s not necessarily worth it. I got into a “top” level srat where I had photo ops and mixers with top frats (frats are way overhyped tbh). I was pressured to go to some mixers even when I had too much homework or didn’t want to go. my biggest criticism though was that the overall culture and girls I was around brought out the worst in me. inside I began to truly think I was “better” than girls I can’t really say I knew based on their srat/looks/status. in prep for recruitment we’d stalk the social media of girls we liked/thought were hot enough to figure out the best way to get them. in between days sisters would sometimes make fun of certain PNMs as we rated them each round. I stayed in it for years but the inner drama of the sisterhood and the politics of greek life eventually led to my disaffiliation and I’ve had so many epiphanies since

Quinnipiac University - QU 2.0 Definitely watered down Greek life, kind of wannabe Greek culture. Those in the Greek system like to make excuses for why it is that way but that doesn’t change the fact that it is. Decent amount of philanthropy events but the turnout is an illusion made by other Greek orgs being required to send participants and funds to donate. Generally those who are made to go don’t even want to show up to the lame events and there’s basically no non-Greeks there, maybe a couple men’s sports teams. No housing (state laws ban them off campus and QU won’t let them do it on campus) makes the sisterhoods especially less cohesive. Don’t listen to what anyone else says THE PARTIES SUCK. Partially because no housing so where they end up tends to be cramped and hot. Even top srats end up at lame mixers with almost no alcohol save for maybe water beer so they have to hardcore pregame but everyone loves the idea of being invited to exclusive secret mixers so we pretend it’s ok. You’ll have more fun at the subpar bars/clubs/sports team parties tbh. Guys may undergo minor pledge hazing and only the top sororities haze. Attractiveness is average, wouldn’t say Greeks are overall better looking than te non-Greek athletes which is another big chunk of our D1 school. Top srats recruit heavily based on looks with no diversity (except a few token people of color who have to act rich and white). You have to be super weird to not get a bid from anywhere, not that hard. Srats put each other down all the time to look better and there’s always srat drama within, it all gets tiring fast. The sisterhoods and brotherhoods are mostly surface level and cliquey but srat families are a perk and at least a lot of people say hi to you on campus and you get to go to showy formals right???

Quinnipiac University - QU 4.3 I know greek life is not huge at Qu but it is getting better and definitely becoming bigger over the years. Housing isn't really an issue but it does suck not having it . the parties are great. The girls and guys in each sorority are hot and friendly and it isn't that competitive to for greek life. there are definitely more girls than guys.

Quinnipiac University - QU 3.8 It’s true that Quinnipiac is not a huge university with 20k undergrads and forty different Greek organizations, so the dream that some have (or want) of college life that includes tailgating with thousands of other sorority and fraternity members before a football game at your school’s 40,000-seat stadium isn’t going to happen here. However, at least 25% of QU students are members of a fraternity or sorority and the number of people participating in Recruitment increases every year so the Greek presence is only going to increase. Not a week that goes by (except during midterm and finals) without some Greek-related social or philanthropy event. That’s not what I’d consider “watered down”. The majority of fraternity and sorority members are chill, inclusive and have a great time while also giving back to the community. Local law doesn’t allow fraternity or sorority housing. A lot of people think that’s a good thing. Most of the horror stories you hear about fraternity life come from something that happened inside official fraternity housing. Trust me there’s still a lot of brotherhood and sisterhood bonding without living in a huge house together. You don’t have to be Greek to have friends and be involved with campus life at Quinnipiac, but for those involved in one of the twenty fraternities or sororities at QU I think most would say it’s a great experience.
