frat letters

Why do some frats have two letters (Zeta Psi, Delta Phi) and others have three letters?

Does it mean anything?

It just means that they were around earlier. Zeta Psi was founded in 1847 and Delta Phi was established in 1827, some of the earliest social fraternities in the world.
