Make a decision when you go through recruitment. The differences are in the feeling you get when you walk into a room. And FYI, this entire site is run by those that are so self conscious about themselves and the reputation of their organization that they feel the need to create constant rankings, etc. No one cares about rankings at NYU, at least not most of the genuine people I’ve met in fraternities and sororities here. And if someone does care... then you should get a hobby.

Can someone provide more details? Answers like the above aren’t helpful. I wanna know what my options are in case I don’t get into the top 4

please don’t be so concerned about a “top 4” what you get out of a sorority is what you put into it. That being said there are amazing things about dg, pi Phi, and ast. The most social out of the three would probably be pi phi but as mentioned earlier dg has gotten a lot more social in past years. One thing you’ll find consistent in those three is strong sisterhood and that’s what you should be the most concerned about.

going off of that, it doesn't mean a lot at a school at nyu where the so-called "core four" are more than half the sororities on campus. Between the ones mentioned, though, DG and PiPhi are both a little more social than AST, and PiPhi has a more substantial campus presence, especially when it comes to Greek Week. DG nationally is very committed to philanthropy but because they're new here they haven't set up a ton yet.

They’re all kind of similar. I’d say AST is even kind of like a mix between DG and Pi Phi (split between girls I could see in either). There’s a good mix of social and more quiet girls in all of them. But AST and Pi Phi definitely have more mixers and more of a presence on campus than DG.

strongly disagree. if anything, DG is the in-between of Piphi and AST. AST has mixers but they're not particularly big partiers, and same with most of piphi with the exception of a specific group of girls who go out enough for the whole sorority. DG, especially their 2018 pledge class, can go pretty hard, and a lot of their new members are huge partiers. But piphi and dg are definitely more philanthropy-minded than ast.
