Alpha Sigma Tau - ΑΣΤ Sorority at New York University - NYU 1.0 Bottom tier vibes, and I’ve never seen them throw a party that wasn’t complete trash. They rarely do anything on campus. Their pledge classes keep getting less hot and their rankings keep going down.

Alpha Sigma Tau - ΑΣΤ Sorority at New York University - NYU 1.0 They never show up to Panhel or campus events in any meaningful way. There's so few members that they hardly do anything in general. They drink a lot, so if you want free booze, they're cool for that. That's the only reason we socialize with them.

Alpha Sigma Tau - ΑΣΤ Sorority at New York University - NYU 1.0 Sadly we’re bottom tier x 10. We’re like the smallest group on campus. Our members are known as being the ‘reject sorority’ - like people on here have said. I don’t fit the ‘sorority girl mold’ either so that’s why I wanted to join. But unfortunately these girls are just as mean, if not more mean, than the pretty popular girls in reputable sororities. Our sorority claims to be diverse, but it’s not… it’s just a tiny failing organization filled with weird, mean people who didn’t get bids from any other sorority. Our social life is so boring and our dues are expensive. We have no real sisterhood and I dread going to any of the few events we have. Meetings are hella boring. It sucks how bad our sorority is… I had high hopes.

Alpha Sigma Tau - ΑΣΤ Sorority at New York University - NYU 3.5 I genuinely love this org and the girls in it so much - makes me sad to see so many negative comments. Anyways, very happy to see them off to a strong start this semester and that the members now seem to be in a good place.

Alpha Sigma Tau - ΑΣΤ Sorority at New York University - NYU 3.5 They are not bad overall. Some of the sisters seem boring but they are nice when you talk to them. It is one of the smaller groups on campus and I think their more diverse.

Alpha Sigma Tau - ΑΣΤ Sorority at New York University - NYU 1.2 I seriously doubt this sorority will last at NYU. So many members quit and even some of their leadership quit... yet again. There are rumors about why people keep quitting them, but I won't post those rumors here. They hardly have any members and that makes them have no decent parties or events. Their reputation is just as bad as it was when half their sorority was expelled for underage drinking years ago. They got their membership numbers up for a while, but now they have like 10-15 members attend chapter members. Their roster is pathetic... not even 80 people. KKG and all the other groups have so many more members, but also more active members. AST just has too few members, and even fewer members that actually show up to their events and parties. I hope NYU replaces AST with some organization that actually has any standards at all and has some members that actually participate. AST does nothing for NYU and nothing for Panhel.

Alpha Sigma Tau - ΑΣΤ Sorority at New York University - NYU 1.4 Bottom tier vibes all the way. Not sure they’re gonna last with all the people that have dropped from their chapter. They used to be moving up in rank and seemed like they might actually pull through their past scandals. Don’t think they will ever get them membership numbers up again now.

Alpha Sigma Tau - ΑΣΤ Sorority at New York University - NYU 4.0 i really love ast, I understand why some people may not but if you ask me I think that they’re a good group. They’re mostly chill and sisterhood-focused.

Alpha Sigma Tau - ΑΣΤ Sorority at New York University - NYU 4.2 came out for nyu formal recruitment this past month, went through pref and decided going thru to bid day wasn't the right choice for me atm because of personal circumstances but i wanted to hop on to give my two cents cause i've been seeing a lot of very polarized ratings about ast. so first things first, no they do not have a traditional sorority vibe and if that's not what ur looking for that's fine but it's not an excuse to drag them. the girls are very laid back but i don't necessarily consider that a bad thing, they didn't put on false personas during recruitment so when they asked me things about myself and how i was feeling i got the sense that they actually did care about my answer. active members all genuinely do seem to get along, in conversations i had with them it didn't feel like an interview, i just felt like i was getting to know an aquaintance. their actives are all super welcoming and kind, i saw them in one of the last rounds of day one after we'd been asked to take our bags back to e&l (so we had been going without water for a while at this point) and the actives took the time to make sure everyone got something to drink or a snack, and made sure we were feeling ok right at the start, half of the other orgs i visited who brought snacks didn't even offer snacks they had on display to pnms and i got the sense it was more for the actives to have between rounds (which ok, that's fair but you could also just be transparent about that?). and if you want to talk about diversity in nyu panhel, ast and dphie are the only sororities who are actually doing an ok job with it. during formal so many other orgs preached about how diversity was so important to them and then only proceeded to give bids to woc who were skinny with VERY euro-centric features. ast is in the minority of orgs who actually recruit based on personality and will give bids to girls who are plus sized and/or don't fit into a white beauty standard. overall, they didn't put on the showiest recruitment out of the panhel orgs but i've also heard that they have a lot of actives studying abroad this semester so leadership was stretched pretty thin. i think a lot of these new ratings have been coming from pnms who cared more about how much orgs chose to spend on their recruitment themes and decorations than anything else, personally i don't see the lack of extravagance as a con when the girls are welcoming, fun to talk to, and they've got some of the best rates for dues out of all of panhel.
