Off Campus Fraternities are Sigma Chi, Pike, Phi Tau, Sigma Pi, SAE and Sig Ep. Despite what they will say it is not in your best interest to join these. Especially if they are not backed by nationals. If they are not backed by nationals you yourself can be sued for any wrong doing on thier behalf. SAE and Sig EP are probably not actively recruiting anyways.

If there's a problem, the national fraternity will sue you and your parents homeowners insurance. Your parents will get wiped out.

pike is only off till 2017
phitau is coming back this year
sigchi is still a fraternity w/ a charter but not recognized by clemson
sigpi can recharter around 2019 but is a question mark on what theyre doing with membership
sae and sigep are not actively recruiting new members
Like I've posted before rush fraternities that are backed by both clemson and their nationals with priority. Do not rush a fraternity that does not have their charter (backed by nationals). If you want to check out a fraternity like sigchi and pike go for it but remember you wont be able to participate in clemson's greek life system and are essentially joining a social club.
Bottom Line: highly recommend joining a fraternity that has its charter and is on campus, but joining one that isn't recognized by clemson but has its charter is a viable option just not the best one you can make.
