by: WSJ

Fed day is upon us.

The central bank is set to announce another supersized rate increase. Most investors expect a three-quarter point rise, though markets were pricing in a 15% chance of a full percentage point, according to CME Markets.

Stocks opened higher, with all three U.S. indexes starting the day in the green and most of the S&P 500's sectors rising. The Federal Reserve's decision is due at 2 p.m. ET. Read our full daily markets round-up here.

Meanwhile, the euro dropped and oil and natural-gas prices rose Wednesday after Vladimir Putin announced a mobilization of reservists and threatened a nuclear response in the war in Ukraine.
