its harder to get a bid as senior compared to being a junior rushing because you only have a year in the sorority, but some seniors do get bids. it's just less common.

That's not true. Most sororities keep an open mind and will consider seniors.

Greek life isn’t competitive here. It’s laid back. Most potential new members receive a bid to a sorority . You will probably get into first choice, but will get a bid somewhere. If this was a SEC university than you would probably not get a bid. Long Beach fraternity and sorority life is super laid back here.

Lots of people got through rush senior year here. The only sorority that discriminates against seniors is Alpha Phi. If I were you, I'd just not plan on being in that sorority. Every other sorority will give you a chance. Go for it. You'll find a great home.

Agreed . Alpha Phi only seems to want pmns who are freshmen as opposed to seniors.

Unfortunately the Alpha Phi International Executive Board requires our chapters to consider other aspects such as outward appearance as a priority. Alumnae are fed up with the IEB's recruitment policies!

If you just have one more year here at CSULB as a senior, then I believe that your options might be limited.
However if you have friends/connections in some of the houses, that might be in your favor. Good luck!

I disagree. Most of the sororities will consider someone with just one year left. It's really not that big of a deal. Most sororities here are very inclusive and diverse. We don't discriminate based on age or year in school. We strive to mix it all up.

The NPC chapters at CSULB will follow their respective national organization's recommendations on how many senior potential new members should be considered for their new member classes. They do have to consider taking pnms who are more likely to be long term members, but will allow for a small number of senior students.

Don't worry. Plenty of upperclass men rush especially transfer students and receive a bid during recruitment . Most seniors do receive bids, however it may not be their first choice house. In some rare circumstances though women don't receive any bids , but it's only if you have a gpa below 2.0, are bad standing , or have a terrible attitude throughout the process that reflects and leaves a bad impressions on everyone interviewing you. They get released from recruitment, but its not very often.
