Rushing from out of state
by: NorthernDo chapters here care if I’m from a state other than florida? What’s the house with the most girls from out of state? Will they hold that against me since I didn’t go to high school with any of them?

I joined a sorority as an out of state student. Nothing was held against me, and it’s great for talking points! There are lots of out of state sorority girls, and joining one really helped me meet more people. Don’t worry about it. Also some sororities will try to pair you with other out of state girls during recruitment.

I think every house has a good amount of out of state girls! Ppl consider some to be soflo, southern, etc. but that’s more of a vibe than a hometown thing. And being out of state will only help you in my opinion because you have so much more to talk about! I don’t think any of the chapters are exclusive to Florida whatsoever. I’m oos and knew no one coming to FSU, but rush makes finding friends and meeting girls super easy! Everyone is trying to make friends regardless of where they’re from, literally start talking to random girls on the sidewalk or when you’re waiting outside of the houses! Just be friendly and be yourself and it’ll all come easily :)

This is spot on. It’s more of a vibe than a hometown thing. Just be yourself and see where you vibe.
