The most liberal/progressive, by far, is Theta. Gamma Phi, SDT, and DG too.

These are also the chapters where you will find the most lesbians if that is important to you.

Liberals know how to do one thing and one thing only: Psychological projection.

No house is going to want you if you're that intolerant of other people's beliefs to go out of your way and avoid the houses with "conservative" reputations while stereotyping them. There's conservatives and liberals in every sorority so deal with it.

I can understand OP's concern. A lot of conservatives can be pretty hostile if you don't fit the mold of what they think you should believe and who you should be. Pretty hard to call people "sisters" if they're okay with eliminating an entire religion, or with letting people die of sickness just because they are poor

I think every sorority has some sort of religious group for the religious girls and since most of them were founded in the early 1900s or late 1800s, they do have prayers before events and such. I am not religious myself, and every sorority recognizes that not everyone is religious so you dont have to say the prayers beforehand if you’re not comfortable with it. In my experience, I’ve never had religious things thrown at me or have been forced to do them in my chapter so. But, not every conservative person is closed minded or a “daddys girl” and not every liberal is “forward thinking”, so going forward i would have a different mindset about the sororities if you ever plan on rushing. If you want to be progressive there’s definitely progressive people in every chapter, you just have to find that group.

Since almost every sorority on campus has been established back in the late 1800s or early 1900s, there are some religious aspects to every chapter, like praying before meetings and such. However, if you are not comfortable with this, you do not have to pray. I myself am not religious, and I’ve never been forced to pray or participate in praying. There are religious groups for the religious people that each chapter offers, but there are also progressive groups for the progressive people as well. Although, if you plan on rushing, I would go in with a different mindset instead of conservative=daddys money and closed minded and liberal=open minded. Being in a more conservative chapter or a more liberal chapter shouldn’t be that big of a deciding factor, there are definitely liberal and conservative people in every chapter so it’s what you make of it.
