tri delta
by: questionI will be coming to Arkansas next year from out of state. In my family the women have been Tri Deltas for many generations and one of my relatives was a charter member at Arkansas. So for that reason, Tri Delta is my first choice and I hope I can get it. It isn't going to matter exactly what people say ha ha but I definitely want to know people's thoughts on Tri Delta. Be honest!

If you noticed she was very biased and said "I've heard..".
This year is Tri Delts 100th year at Arkansas, so they definitely wanted the best class to show for it.
If you haven't noticed, every sorority has your typical "hard core party girls." EVERY sorority does, there's no escaping it. Tri Delt is a top house here at Ark for a reason, that being that they are just an excellent house who care about their philanthropy, and getting involved with other sororities/fraternities as well.
They had one of their BEST recruitment rounds this year, so it will be exciting to see what they will do as a chapter this year!! I don't know one Tri Delt who says they hate it there.
That being said, I would still keep an open mind about all the sororities here at Arkansas. All of them are truly special and you should give each and every one of them a chance. If you are a big time Tri Delt legacy, you have a very good chance of becoming one. However, this isn't a guarantee that you will for sure become one. They also look at your reputation and social media (and by they I mean EVERY sorority) so they really do take all things into consideration. If you were a good student in High school, and express high interest in being a tri delt, you have a good chance :)
Just keep in mind that greek life is very popular at Ark, so ALL the sororities here are awesome in their own way!

The house has as many girls as a big HS has students. You're not going to force anything on that many people. They have to WANT to act classy, treat their pledges with kindness, etc.

No it's not how everyone feels. I think the Tri Deltas I know are amazingly wonderful girls. Pretty, sweet, involved, funny, smart girls. Of course there are a variety of girls in any house, but if you do go Tri Delta, I think you will find like-minded girls in the house who will help you recruit girls more like you.

i am a sophomore here and not in a house at so i am completely unbiased. An old high school friend went tri delt and loved it because all here friends were there and partied together. A girl i met freshmen year hated it and wanted out because of how mean they were to the girls and when i talk to her she still hates it as a sophomore because it's so cliquey.
your tridelt experience will depend on how easily you find a friend group.
majority of the tri delts i've met are superficial and wild but they do have some girls that redeem them a little.

It wasn't how I thought it would be, too much fighting between the small cliques of girls who claim to be friends. There was a large group of girls like me who basically didn't rassociate with more than one girl in the entire house. I decided to leave all that negativity behind and spend my money on studying abroad. There might be nice girls in the house that have true friendships but in my short time there I never experienced that. Friendships seemed to be built upon joining one clique to fight with another clique.

So? They're known for having a lot of Texas girls, ya'll, and there were hundreds of legacies that went through recruitment this year.

All the negative comments I have read are from the past. The only negative comment I see from 2017 is yours about another house being responsible for this and having a Group Me about it which doesn't seem like the truth at all. The truth to me would be someone decided to blame another house for the comments to try and make them look bad but didn't pay attention to when it was written.

I don't think "here's the truth" is that far off. Look at all the non-sensical bumps this thread has gotten in 2017. Bumps with such insightful comments as, "what?," "what's wrong with their house?," "yes". None of these comments contribute to the discussion and are just a way to bump this thread.

Holy crap there are some extremely petty and ridiculous people commenting on this. As another person said, there are partiers in EVERY sorority....EVERY. SORORITY. As big as the pledge classes are now, there's no way that any house can say that they have cornered the market on any particular kind of girl and if someone is saying that their sorority is full of "good girls" and that they don't have any partiers or hos, then they probably lie about most everything else. This is college, people. SEC College. With that said, I happen to think DDD is awesome!!! Go Tri-Delt!!!

The comments about hazing, being very mean to one another, partying too much, some crazy alum who only wants to rush Texas girls blah blah blah. Who cares about any of it? iI they are lies all they are is words! Worry about what is true and ignore the rest. Defending it makes it look like you are guilty. The truth needs no defense.

Top legacies do not go Tri Delta anymore. Last year at least 10 of their top legacies dropped Tri Delta before pref.
