I’m a sophomore going through recruitment and haven’t had a problem with anyone in AOPI. I’ve overheard a lot of conversations with AOPIs on my dorm floor last year and it seemed like they weren’t trying to be backstabbers, but those may have been some of the better girls. One conversation I overheard while I was on the toilet was one girl had a schedule conflict and the chapter voted to have their meetings on a day she couldn’t go. Another one (also was on the toilet) was about a girl that came in to talk during their chapter meeting about joining another organization, and the girl apparently talked way too long and made the meeting go late. Just based on what I’ve noticed it seems like every sorority complains about something or someone in one way or another. I’m worried that this year’s recruitment online is going to end up with (all) sororities choosing girls based on superficial things. I wish pref was in person because even though I like some sororities now, I might not end up in the right place because I haven’t talked to girls in person and everyone talks about preference day being more emotional. And it’s hard to read body language when recruitment is virtual. One girl I talked to today was explaining the reason that they changed the motto and while she was describing “inspiring ambition” she used the phrase “faith hope and love” for like the inspirational part. This may sound stupid but that worries me because I know “faith, hope, love” is a Christian thing and I’m an atheist. It’s really awkward bringing up my beliefs to almost anyone but if I end up in a religious sorority I know I’ll end up dropping. I didn’t get the vibe last year that AOPIs were super religious girls so I’m over here like “do what now?” Maybe someone on here can answer me about if AOPI is religious or not. Don’t give me any sorority secrets obviously because like as a PNM I respect that but are they known for definitely being Christian like ADPI or OPA or are they more like Chi O (or maybe it was AXiD idr) that I know had one or two first generation Americans that were also Muslims? It would really suck to start making new friends in a sorority only to find out it’s based on following a god I don’t even believe in

I’m going through recruitment currently and didn’t know a lot about sororities at WKU but was VERY surprised with AXD, they seem so genuine. They have all been so kind and sweet all week and I know so many girls are really loving them including myself. They seem trendy and outgoing. Any girl would be so lucky to be an AXD

I’ve been asked back every day during this years recruitment and I’m honestly so excited. Everyone seems to gravitate towards them and want to join Chi Omega. I wasn’t sure when I first went through but they seem super genuine and authentic. They make having a conversation relaxing. Really hope I’m a “hooty” by the end of recruitment.

So far during 2020 recruitment phi mu is my favorite. The conversation I had with one girl felt really genuine and I felt like I connected with her really well. I’m going through all of this with an open mind but from what I know about phi mu and the girls I’ve talked to I think this is a really great and underrated sorority. I think if I ended up in phi mu (just thinking out loud) I would want to be in a leadership position at some point because I already know a lot about their philanthropy from my life experience. We’ll see how it goes but this is definitely my fav by far

Going through recruitment rn and I really like sigma kappa. I felt like I could be myself throughout the conversation and that’s really important to me....i don’t want a sorority to change who I am. Their girls seem respectable. A girl I talked to yesterday seemed really happy to be talking to me and it made me feel really welcomed even though this is only the beginning of recruitment. I didn’t get that vibe at every single sorority. Sigma Kappa seems like a good place so far, but I still have an open mind.

Currently going through recruitment and I thought aopi was going to be bad like a lot of these reviews say but I had a really genuine conversation with a girl that I honestly could’ve talked to for like an hour if there was time. It’s too early to know if aopi is right for me and I still have a really open mind and like a couple other sororities too but I hope I’m still friends with her no matter where I end up because I felt like we had everything in common

Talked to them and wasn’t as impressed as I thought I’d be. The girls didn’t seem interested in what I had to say and I’m not sure if it’s the virtual recruitment format this year or what but one girl I talked to seemed really rigid and tense and I didn’t know how to act. Just smiled and tried polite conversation with her. Maybe she was nervous? I don’t know. It was awkward for me as someone who is pretty talkative. The girls didn’t seem like they liked each other much and maybe that’s them being formal, maybe that’s their actual attitude idk I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and hopefully if I talk to them again the convo will be better
