MY TESTIMONY: I waited until my sophomore year at Missouri State to rush because I thought I wouldn't "fit it" with the rest of FSL. I was wrong. After rushing and finding my new home chapter, I realized that there are people just like me. I truly believe that in each chapter at Missouri State, fraternity and sorority, you can find a billion different types of people - attractive, athletic, smart, quiet, quirky, loud, outgoing, musical, etc. If you think you won't fit in, I promise you that you're wrong. I didn't have many friends growing up, but I have no only made so many friends in my chapter and in other chapters, but I have meet the people that will be in my future wedding. Sitting at less than 15% of Missouri State's population, Greek Life is an incredible experience not only for the "parties", but to make friends that last forever and to get involved, making memories of a lifetime. After rushing sophomore year and being on my chapter's Executive Board junior year, rushing is something I highly recommend to ALL students -- incoming freshman, sophomores, juniors, seniors (it's not too late!) -- and I can't wait to see where my senior year holds in my chapter! --- COMMUNITY SERVICE: In the Spring 2019 semester, together, our fraternities served their community for over 12,000 hours, and our sororities served for over 21,000 hours. HAZING: In my four years at Missouri State, I have only heard of one hazing report (and the Chapter faced serious consequences for their actions), which is pretty outstanding. GPA: Last semester, the all-FSL GPA was a 3.22, which is significantly higher than the all-campus GPA of 3.16. All fraternities and sororities at Missouri State have to meet their chapter's GPA requirement, and almost all have a minimum number of study hours they must complete if their grades have not meet that goal. We pride ourselves in our historical and recent academic successes at Missouri State. INVOLVEMENT: Almost all fraternities and sororities not only require their members to be active within their chapter, but active in another organization on campus as well. Whether it be Student Government Association, a music group, a religious organization, etc., you can always find a FSL member present and active. PHILANTHROPY: In the Spring 2019 semester, together, our fraternities donated over $15,500, and our sororities donated over $16,700. All donation go towards the chapter's organization of choice, including but not limited to the following: USO, Alzheimer's Association, Starkey Hearing Foundation, Harmony House, etc. --- RUSH MO STATE, RUSH FSL. I promise, you won't regret it!
