I was talking to some older alums and they said when they went through rush (not even at UT or UA) you didn't necessarily register for it and go to X number parties on day one, Y number on day two, etc. You would receive an invitation from someone who knew you or knew of you to rush their sorority. And for however many invitations you had that was the number of houses you rushed. On the part of the houses, there was no RFM so A LOT of girls got cut completely. Joining a sorority was a ton more exclusive back then.
