I just think the way PKT does things is mean. Old Row here at least makes their heavy cuts early, so they aren't entertaining too many girls with "no chance", or that may just be my chapter. Yeah, the MB/Hoover/whatever girls have ins at every house, but I truly & honestly believe every girl from every area has a chance to connect with one of these houses. Also, I've stayed in touch with actives I connected with during rush but didn't pledge their house! All of my best friends go to UT, & all of them HATE PKT - even the girls in other Big 6 houses. PKT may be "exclusive" but they're not well-liked- in fact, they're basically hated every Greek at UT with the exception of Fiji & SAE. While some people may not like Old Row sororities, I think in general people just don't like the dumb tiers & petty drama, not necessarily the Old Row girls themselves. I can only think of one Old Row sorority that seems to be universally hated. A lot of the Old Row girls are nice - in DDD, XO, AXO, AGD, there are some really down-to-earth girls, despite Old Row status. I loved XO on the first day and had a great conversation. They dropped me, but I still respect their house because they were kind while I was there, even if I had "no chance". If Pi Phi just gave the girls who are guests in their home a 10 minute conversation, I think their reputation would completely turn around. All it takes to spread Pan Love is girls being kindness, and what better time to start than during recruitment?
