Let me start by saying I'm not any of the posters above. And I too agree that the person who slammed those two sororities was way off base, and it makes our school look really bad. I would like to address the idea of posting random lists. I agree with "really?" that the lists are flawed. But for better or for worse, people rely on ridiculous lists. When people say "Harvard is one of the best schools" They probably got the information from urban folklore and they also probably got the information from Newsweek's list or US&World Report's list. Many univiversitites spend loads of PR money getting their names on those lists. When people say "TCU is really good for graphic design" I cringe because I know they have gotten that from some ridiculous list that TCU paid to get their name on. The reality is that these lists are ridiculous but our society sadly does place value on them. Houses sell for more money because the local public schools are "ranked" better. Stupid to do so, but they do. So when someone attacked sororities that she had family members in, I don't blame her for pulling out those lists.
