Obviously you have been getting your information from scrolling through greekrank pages, especially the one over at UA. Facts that I know about are that APhi has been on a chapter-opening/recolonization spree over the last 10 years. I mean like crazy trying to catch up with larger national sorority membership numbers on known and popular campuses, and fast. They seem to have something to prove on the national level for some reason. Therefore, many of their chapters, particularly in the South, are much newer compared to older established sorority chapters. Without a network of connections and alumnae from these schools and regional areas to help recruit girls that people know something about and can vouch for, they SEEM to have a strategy of not focusing on qualities like good character, grades, involvement, leadership, and sisterhood material, but rather more heavily on looks and other superficial traits like popularity on social media. That is a fast way to get many girls quickly so they can bump their numbers up and get a house quickly and get their name out there. Their nationals also seem to have embraced greekrank as a PR/recruiting tool and encourage its use, whereas many other nationals understand how sketchy it is and discourage its use. These are a major points that others have noticed. And after establishing a few chapters this way, the young alumnae of them have gone out and helped establish other new chapters emphasizing the same things that they learned in their chapter. These are just some clues as to how APhi nationals may have decided to run their show in the 21st century. No one can say for sure.
