You sound like me. I went through with the wrong attitude as a freshman. As a sophomore a friend and I went through again with a better attitude and made sure to rank to maximize our chances. That meant giving houses we met the benefit of the doubt, not listening to the "tier" rankings, and keeping houses that traditionally take larger pledge classes on our lists. For 3 party we ended up with a combination of housed/unhoused sororities and we were lucky that we both got bids to the same house that I don't want to reveal here. It does happen but you need to do your best to make sorority friends and network, have good grades (that's what you came to IU for), look your best, have interesting things to talk about, show leadership, and MOST importantly KEEP AN OPEN MIND and MAXIMIZE YOUR CHANCES. Through events, I've now met sisters I never talked to during recruitment and they all have different personalities. There is always a mix in each house and I realize that recruitment does not give a good read as to what types of sisters are in each house, especially the bigger ones. With 200+ sisters you're going to have a mix of girls but that also means a lot of people would be perfectly happy in the larger chapters.
