Subject:
a note for all of those on here looking for the tea

Poster Message:
Listen, I’m sure many people pop up on here wanting to spill some tea from like 2005; HOWEVER, that is not my job, so if that’s what you were looking for, you may wanna get an icee and chill out lol. Despite the stigmas associated with Greek life, sororities were specifically designed to empower and challenge women, and to set them to a higher standard. Yeah, we have fun. Yeah, sometimes we make irresponsible decisions (like driving an hour to buy cookies when it’s finals week and you’re stressed out). But, at the same time, our involvement in these organizations benefits not only us as individuals, but others, as well. Every year, our chapters raise thousands of dollars to go towards organizations that help the community (Children’s Miracle Network, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Make a Wish, etc.). In addition to this, all Greek women go and volunteer at these places every semester, and some even end up taking internships within these organizations. Additionally, all chapters provide leadership opportunities within their chapters, which prepares them for leadership opportunities outside of their chapters. Don’t believe me? Take a look at your Mavens and OLs. You may be surprised at how many of them are a part of a chapter on campus. Have Greeks made mistakes in the past? I mean yeah, probably. Will they continue to make mistakes in the future? Yeah, more than likely. I’m not sure who needs to hear this, but people involved in Greek life aren’t some elevated species who have everything together. WE👏🏽ARE👏🏽STILL👏🏽HUMAN👏🏽BEINGS👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Honestly, all these ratings are subjective, and I would venture to say that most of them are unreliable because they are all written by biased people. Before making a judgement, get to know a Greek woman. Then go on and meet some more. We’re all different. We don’t all come from the same place, and we’re not all going in the same direction. We’re not all clones, and if you decide to go through recruitment, you’ll see that firsthand. If you are reading this and you are curious about recruitment, just do it. Don’t be intimidated by what you hear or what you read. Yeah, you may see some dirt, but it’s all from the past, anyway. Sororities are so much more than letters on a T-shirt. They’re not about being petite and perfect: they’re about learning, leadership, love, and growth.
