Valentines Day Guide For A Single Girl VS A Girlfriend

Candy Hearts
 Candy Hearts

It’s that time of year again—heart décor pops up in every single store, the candy aisle gets moved to the front, and social media posts with “I love you” captions and pictures fill every newsfeed. Single girls go into a day of depression and taken girls are happy that they found someone who has stuck with them for this long. Here’s a detailed game plan for both single and taken girls to go out there and enjoy their v-day.

1 Month Before
Single Girl – Begin to rally all your single friends to toss out ideas for what you'll do to go out and have fun.

Girlfriend – Better start figuring out what your gift will be. Make hints to your BF as to what you want and what you want to do.

1 Week Before
Single Girl – Set your plans with your gals. Whether you are staying in or going out, make sure your itinerary is finalized.

Girlfriend – Make sure your gift for your partner is purchased. You may need to nag your BF to remember to get yours.

Night Before
Single Girl – Fill your pantry with chocolates and candies. You can never have enough sweets to eat on Valentine’s Day.

Girlfriend – Provide special attention to your face with a facial mask to ensure that your face is glowing perfectly for the next day.

Valentines Day Morning
Single Girl – Pamper yourself and sleep in. There is no need for you to hustle and bustle around on this day. Treat yourself to a nice breakfast; don’t be stingy on the pancake syrup.
Girlfriend – Sleep in a little, but not too long; too much sleep can make you drowsy for the rest of the day. Take a nice hot shower to wake yourself up and to make sure you’re looking and smelling nice all day.

Valentines Day Afternoon
Single Girl – At any point in time, break open the chocolates—there is never a bad time, after all. Binge watch a few rom-com Netflix movies to really get you in the mood.

Girlfriend – Try on potential outfits for whatever you and your beau have planned for your V-day night. Look for reds and pinks if you’re feeling the spirit of the holiday.

Just Before Your Date/Event
Single Girl – Get your girls riled up for a good night with a friendly group text stating the official and final plan for the night. Don’t forget to spread the single love to all your fellow single ladies (and lads).

Girlfriend – Double check that you have everything you need in your purse before you leave your house. Chapstick, gum, powder— all are essential to keep you looking and feeling fabulous while out (or in) with your BF.

During Your Date/Event
Single Girl – Play an assortment of games with your friends (the more love-related, the better!) “Never have I ever” and “Two truths and a lie” are classic games to keep the conversation and laughs going. Staying in with your friends is always fun, but my advice would be to put something casual on and you and the girls head out for a night out. While couples pay for overpriced meals, many bars are teeming with single guys.
Girlfriend – Have fun and enjoy laughs with your BF. Don’t worry about what is going on around you or with other people. Whatever you two are doing, focus on each other and enjoy each other’s company. Don’t forget to keep yourself looking good!

After Your Date/Event
Single Girl – Remind your friends that you didn’t need a significant other to have fun, then wind down your night with a nice cup of tea; soothing sips will have you thinking of next year.

Girlfriend – Show your boyfriend how much you appreciate him for all he’s done. If it was a good night, it can be a sure sign that there will be more good times to come. Don’t stress about next year—hopefully this Valentine’s Day will be the one to beat.
