junior rush

by: Junior

Is it more difficult for Juniors to get bids from sororities? I didn't think it would much easier or harder than normal, but after reading several posts, it was made out as if rushing as a junior is more difficult? Will someone please help/elaborate on this? Thank you!!!!

It's more difficult. Some won't even look at anybody who's not a freshman unless they have connections in the house.
If you're open to any group - even the so-called "lower tier" ones - you have a chance.

Rushing as a junior is harder because you're competing against hundreds of freshmen and sophomores that are more "competitive" pnms. They simply just have more time here. Even the "lower" houses have extremely competitive rounds, there are just so many girls! I would rush and if it doesn't work out check out the colonizing chapters! You'll find a home :)

A lot of sororities prioritize freshmen and sophomores because they simply have more time in the sorority, so they'll contribute to the sorority's numbers and dues longer. That's not to say you definitely won't get a bid, especially if you have friends in greek life! Definitely rush, and the worst thing that will happen is you meet a few friends in the process.
