rushing for fraternities

by: High school junior

I'm interested how the whole rushing process works. How soon do people normally start contacting houses? How hard is it to get a bid for out of state students? What houses would be good for me? I'm not a huge partier, so I'm more excited about the brotherhood and community service aspect of greek life rather than the partying. To be honest, greek life kinda scares me since I'm not a super loud and outgoing person, so would rushing even be a good option for me? No one in my family has ever been greek affiliated, so what's the best way to go about this whole process? Thanks

From personal experience, rushing is the only way to know if greek life is for you. There is rush events in both fall and spring semester in which you visit the houses and meet the brothers.
