If you have a 2.5 gpa but have reccomendations can that help you?

Not a chance. 2.5 is way too low. You're gonna have to start realizing you're not really going to have your pick of houses. Be happy with the ones that pick you, or don't go greek at all.

Also, who in their right mind would write a rec for someone with a 2.5 gpa???

you should NOT be rushing with that low of a GPA. School is a little more important than rush. Get your priorities straight.
