recommendation letters

I am excited to rush in the fall! I've got a letter of recommendation for most of the houses. I was wondering what that means? Do people with letters of recommendation get more consideration? I know at Bama it's almost a requirement but I read the other post here that says it's not. So, how do they work here? Also, should I mail in the letters or give them to the houses at rush? Thanks so much! :)

Definitely mail them in!

It's not a requirement, but it definitely doesn't hurt.
