The sororities dont even have houses haha. its so lame. They all have to fit in this tiny little room thats SOOOOO small. The sorority houses in the states are massive, and UBC can only get a tiny little room.....what a joke

its because Vancouver has the most expensive real estate in north america, when the average house price in the local area is over 2 million it is a little prohibitive

Not only that but Canadian Law indirectly prohibits sorority houses via some archaic rule that more than a certain number of women living together is considered a brothel.

The brothel law has been lifted off however, the politics regarding 8 sororities getting houses at the same time is a little rough.

Actually, it's not just in UBC that sororities don't have house. Lot's of sororities in the states don't have them and some don't have any meeting space at all. Please stop being ignorant and rude.
