Does anyone know about how many girls a house takes during recruitment at KU? I'm worried there will be too many girls and not enough spots...

Each house has around 40-50 openings each year for new pledges. Over a thousand girls start rush, not all girls finish rush by any means, but you do the math.

Not every girl rushing ends up in a house. Too many girls, not enough spaces.

The number each house takes will expand to the number needed for every girl who maximizes her options.

^^^ that's the correct technical answer

But it's a finite number. Some girls do not get asked back throughout the week. Numbers are set ahead of time you cannot take 60 girls if you only have room for 40.

not true. The number at pref is divided by the number of houses and that's quota. If you don't have room for all of them to live in some don't get to.

Each house has a limit. They cannot hold more girls than there is room. There are more girls rushing than spaces available, so some girls do and will not get in a house

not true. Not every girl lives in the house.

Exactly, because there isn't enough room. The size of the house is limited, for obvious reasons.

House size is limited, but that is not what limits new member class size. That is limited by the numbers going through recruitment who attend pref parties. If you don't drop out you'll have a spot in a house if you maximize your options. Most classes are too big for everyone to live there together. That is unfortunate but not determinative of the class size.

weird cuz where do you put a thousand girls if they all maximize their options? Even if they don't all live in house, there is still a limit. The answer to your question is yes there is not enough room, but unless you're super weird you should at least get a bottom house.

The rules will change this year. The reality is, unless tons of girls drop, not everyone will make it into a house. There's always spring rush for some houses & rushing as a sophomore.

Yeah you can do those and a good amount of girls will get bids through spring rush and upperclassmen rushing, but it's true. There's an outrageous number of girls going greek and every one of the houses will be packed, greek is big this year :))))

People need to stop answering this unless they understand recruitment. Quota is the number at pref divided by the number of houses. If it is more than can live in a house at any certain time, the house decides how to determine who gets to live in. Quota is not set by the number that can live in any certain house.

Panhellenic is going to have a tough time this year figuring out everything. Does anyone know the exact number of girls who have already signed up for recruitment?

940. Could easily be over 1,000 when the deadline arrives.
