I cannot recommend Greek Life at the University of Iowa enough, with all that is going on right now with FIJI, there is a bad taste in the mouth of many. The University has wanted to get rid of Greek Life for a long time and these riots and protests are only adding fuel to that fire. Rush at the University of Iowa and help us build back our Fraternity and Sorority Life up again.

the thing you have to remember is that iowa is a big 10 school and is not in the south where greek life has a bigger presence. definitely has the big typical party school vibe. rushing is definitely less stressful than at other schools because headshots, letters of rec, etc are not required. as long as you stay true to yourself, dress for the occasion, and trust the process, you will find the perfect house for you. if you want to join greek life, go for it! although it seems to have a major presence on campus, you definitely don't need to join a frat or sorority to have a fun time in college here. there's always parties, but if that's not your speed you can always head downtown and have a fun night at the bars.

The university is so hell-bent on destroying Greek life it is honestly incredible. Can't wait for future alumni to not give back to this university after remembering how things were

Iowa cities downtown is big on bars so the university doesn’t rely solely on frat and sorority parties. They do intact still have some good parties.

Shivvers hit the frats hard and starting going for the srats. Bars are the move 80% of the time but there's a house for everyone and picks up for tailgate and darty szn. Still the Big 10 party culture you'd expect

Iowa’s Greek life is big but isn’t, more people tend to go to the bars where certain Frats and Srats make it their own spot. It becomes fun but hazing is still around but that’s not really going to change. Don’t come To Iowa if you are just looking at Greek life. Would I recommend rushing, absolutely....there is a house for everybody.
