When someone says something nice about a fraternity or sorority, and then it's immediately assumed that it's that fraternity or sorority self-ranking, it creates an environment in which no one can say anything nice about each other. Even if they were to self-rank, having a frat/sorority think that they are a higher "tier" than you perceive them is not the end of the world. Worst case scenario, its members feel better about themselves. We're in these organizations to better ourselves, not for a contrived sense of superiority over each other. Let's not shoot ourselves in the foot with that mentality.

But what usually happens is someone says something nice about one sorority, then slams the others with negativity.
