gpa and recruitment

I am confused about the GPA requirements for recruitment. My overall high school GPA is a 3.36, but if you recalculate for the core classes it is 2.85, My transcript shows the 3.36. I went to a very competitive school and was super-involved in activities, but I'm afraid if it's only the core GPA that's looked at, I won't have much of a chance of getting into a sorority. Is it worth it for me to go through rush?

Sororities want girls that are involved and well rounded. You sound great! You'll do well during recruitment, don't worry!

If you can't keep up with your grades before you're in a sorority you won't be able to afterward... That makes you much less attractive to houses.

We also take the school into consideration because some girls go to super hard private prep schools and have a lower gpa even though they are just as smart.
