All hands on deck! Your parents are coming to visit your college home. For most college students this happens at least once a school year. Here is a list of your prep work, what you need to have out on display and what you need to hide, the people you need to notify, and the everything in between.

Alert your roommates many, many times. Remind them so many time they get sick of you…and then remind them again.

Prepare your significant other. If you’re planning for your parents to meet your significant other, you better prepare them. Put out at least one photo from home. Mom will love to see that you keep a keepsake from home.
Clean. Obviously. Do the things you might not otherwise do…like scrub the kitchen floor and dust a little.

Do your laundry. This just shows that you’re keeping yourself together.
Keep your fridge empty. Hopefully, they will notice and offer to replenish it.
Hide anything you don’t want them to see. There are always going to be elements of your life they don’t need to know.

Get your schoolwork done. Them being there is going to be a huge time suck…prepare and get your work done.
Find a good restaurant. Obviously let them pay.
Have your books and other school work on display. Make it very apparent that you’re still prioritizing being a student.
